I like the lyrics, but I’m not feeling the track as a whole. The only thing that sounds remotely like Premo are the scratches.

The sample is just lazy IMO. The drums don’t have that punch they usually have either.

I rate the track a 4 out of 10. I probably couldn’t do much better, but still. This is Premo. I could be one of the biggest Premo fans. All my beats and my whole sound is influenced by Premo. Just saying, before anyone starts calling me a Premo hater.

well in my opinion this is a pure banger.. seriously, this is such a ill leftfield track, and i love preems leftfield stuff the most..
i guess i understand why guttah mastah doesnt really feel it, i mean you obviously prefer the grimy, dark hardcore premo tracks, but this is sumthin new from preem, for all those who say that all premo beats sound the same.. premier never ceases to amaze me, and royce killed it expect for some weak lines (“left her standin there on the floor cryin over spilled milk”) but it def has many quotables.. preems always has bangers for royce, and nickle nine kills em every time.. crazy song

@DJ Guttah wow, you think the beat is lacking? this could practically be a gangstarr track or a bumply knuckles joint.

  • Comment from who shot john

this track is ill as hell. I wish preem would have used the “nas is like” drums for this one though……

  • Comment from SirBiatch

For those who think this beat is ILLLLLL, let me ask a question:

Is there a Preem beat you actually don’t like or think is lackluster?

I love DJ Premier and I think his batting average is near flawless. But let’s be real; not EVERY single beat he makes is excellent or even good. This track is alright at best; nothing special.

It certainly doesn’t belong in the place of classic Royce/Premo collabs like “Boom”, “Hip Hop” and “Shake This”

  • Comment from DJ Lord Ron

Royce does not bring the energy on this dope track. This track would be bananas with Gang Starr, M.O.P., Nas or Buckshot. This joint iz too street. I’m feelin this. This iz some Superfly shit.

I like 99% of DJ Premier’s work. His work ethics are unmatched from any producer in hip hop culture. Lookin’ forward to the release regardless.

THIS IS PURE HIP HOP PERIOD…….

This has all the ingredients of great hip hop music..

    obscure sample… tight production… great MC.ing..

You must understand this is the bench mark that very few reach these days ….. Primo doing what he does best…..
