It hurts me to say this, but the underground is just as wack as the mainstream right now. If the underground was so amazing, would we give a fuck about Lil Wayne/Drake/etc? NO

It’s like the underground is stuck in a rut. Mediocre rhymes, lame wannabe-boom bap beats. Beats without personality, rhymes without personality.

I’ll love hip hop to the day I die. We need to stop complaining about mainstream and just DO US. I want to hear the next, evolved Cuban Linx/Illmatic/whatever. All the underground albums I’ve heard are either straight up wack or mediocre as fuck and won’t be listened to by June 2011. Zero staying power.

    Can’t anyone make a classic/near-classic album anymore?!

i asked preem about the bp3 joint via twitter, and he said that one’s been used by freddie foxxx, another by shabeeno (which would be “what it iz” i guess, a banger, imagine jay-z wouldve picked this one…) and the third still unused…
i cant wait for the nygz album anymore 🙁
