In an interview with The NY Hip Hop Report Saigon tells us something banging about his new album, “It’s executive produced by Just Blaze, but DJ Premier did the majority of the production on the record. Just Blaze got a record on there, but DJ Premier is really at the helm.”
Fuck yeah! the next chapter of “The Greatest Story Never Told Chapter 3: The Playbook” is expected for May ’14. All I know he has three tracks produced by DJ Premier and one is featuring Big Daddy Kane, this is what Saigon said about the Big Daddy Kane feature: “The feature I been waiting my whole life for. This is bigger than the Jay-Z feature to me personally.” Maybe more Premo tracks to expect?

END POLL: 1 JANUARY 2014
With Dynasty being the last beat of 2013 it’s again that time of the year my friends. We didn’t get NYGz, MC Eiht nor KRS-One, Pete Rock and Get Used To It DVD but it was a powerful year. Be aware, judge strictly on the beats, not the rhymes. It’s the beat that matters in this poll… And good/bad news, this year I didn’t had to cut tracks from the poll because there weren’t as many productions (compared to last year). So who will run away with the award?? This one could be hard to choose from!!
2012 winner: Mind You Business by La Coka Nostra (28%)
2011 winner: You by Evidence (22%)
2010 winner: Première Salve by Soulkast (20%)
2009 winner: Rap Addiction by Blaq Poet (17%)
2008 winner: Say Goodnight by Reks (30%)
In 2008 we had 359 votes, in 2009 we had 950 votes, in 2010 we had 3 118 votes, in 2011 we had 4,098 votes, in 2012 we had 2,454 votes. WHO WILL WIN THE AWARD??? VOTE VOTE VOTE!!
Thank you for your time and support over the years! -gim

Legendary New York hip hop collective D.I.T.C. is working on a full-length remix album, to be released in Spring 2014. The 2LP-release will include contributions by all original DJs/producers of the Diggin’ In The Crates Crew; Showbiz, Buckwild, Lord Finesse and Diamond D, as well as remixes by affiliated producers like DJ Premier, Marco Polo, 9th Wonder, The Alchemist, Boogie Blind, Bink, Apollo Brown, DJ OGee and quote, unquote “even more.”
The good folks over at Brooklyn-based record label Slice-Of-Spice teased followers on Facebook and Instagram that the remix album is set for an early spring release next year: “We look to get this monster ready for an early Spring release. x2LP, the full trimmings, and bonuses galore.”
A Showbiz remix of “Best Behavior” is the first official confirmation to our knowledge. Other than that expect remixes of D.I.T.C. originals with O.C., AG, Fat Joe, KRS-One, and deceased hip hop legends Big L and Big Pun.

Not many things are known about him, but according to XXLmag Frank V will be signing to DJ Premier’s label Year Round Records! It isn’t official yet. He’s a singer/songwriter from Boston and released his first mixtape last year. I’m curious to see what will happen, I was always hyped for the Boy Big album 10 years ago but it never came. Maybe with this new rnb artist?

Serato didn’t release the news/details yet but word on the street says that Serato contacted DJ Premier for a collaboration with the pressing devision of the company. It will be a limited double vinyl release with off course the Serato Control Tone on the other side, but the A side sounds very interesting, check it out:
DJ Premier x Serato Limited Double Vinyl Release Includes:
NYGz – My Influences (Prod. by DJ Premier)
Lady of Rage – Chemical Burn (Prod. by DJ Premier)
2 exclusive unreleased beats by DJ Premier
It will probably include slip mats too. No release date is given (as the news isn’t official yet). So be on the lookout! Last track Serato released of DJ Premier was Kendra Morris Concrete Waves (DJ Premier 320 Remix) (via Waxpoetics).

Probably not, but if this is fully produced by DJ Premier it will beat the NYGz upcoming album as for first fully DJ Premier produced album since The Ownerz?! Can’t wait!!
EDIT: This is the new M.O.P. album, the collabo album with DJ Premier will be released late 2014.
Immortal Technique, Macklemore, DJ Premier and Ryan Lewis.
