No DJ Premier on Christina Aguilera’s Next Album

Yes, it’s true! No DJ Premier on Christina‘s Aguilera next album! From the 9 records Preem recorded with Aguilera none of them will be featured on the upcoming album, that is what he said in an interview with Conspiracy Radio last night. The reason why the tracks won’t be featured is cause it won’t fit with the idea and concept of the album, which is futuristic. But DJ Premier assured us that further collaboration is possible in the far future, like with her upcoming movie project “Burlesque. God please, leak those tracks. A lot of people will be pissed I think.

Premo also told us that Nick Javas is getting ready to drop his 12inch and that Gemcrates is signed to Works of Mart. Ow yeah, interesting note about the “Mr. Magic Salute Intro” he did last week: it was created in 20min, he took the beat from his “Beats That Collected Dust Vol. 2” and did his thing. No notes on when that is going to be released. Further Conspiracy Radio discussed -in the 30min interview on the phone- the deaths of Mr. Magic, Roc Raida and DJ AM. After that we got the interesting questions about the KRS-OneOutta Here (Demo)track, Royce’s “Street Hop“, and wondering if their were any updates on the Nas and Gang Starr project. Hear it yourself:

Big shout out to the people of Conspiracy Radio, thank you!

Royce Da 5’9″ – Hood Love (Feat. Bun B & Joell Ortiz) (Final Mix) (Radio Rip)

What did DJ Premier played today on his show? The final mix of “Hood Love” that includes scratches and Joell Ortiz! This will be the last track on Royce da 5’9″ upcoming most anticipating album “Street Hop“. Preem really switched his style up for “Street Hop”, it’s like he wanted to bring the emotional Royce for us. And I’m loving it, I already know “Something 2 Ride” with Phonte will be my favorite! But don’t worry if you want hardcore Royce, for those tracks he hired Streetrunner and Mr. Porter. I should expect the Phonte track this week, now enjoy this final mix of “Hood Love”:

KRS-One – Outta Here (Demo Version)

A Mr. Magic (R.I.P.) diss! I know it got leaked before I started this blogshit, but what the heck, now that we are reminiscing the Mr. Magic I felt like uploading this shit again. Pretty rare, large props from me to whoever uploaded this (seems like a radio rip). I’m wondering what DJ Premier‘s thoughts were in the studio, but he was just glad he could worked with KRS-One (at that time) I guess. Or was it maybe his decision to release the proper version? Eargasm:

DJ Premier – Mr. Magic Salute Intro

Ripped from the tribute mix by DJ Premier that I ripped last week, it was shared on enough sites though but people still asked for it so here is the mp3! I’m asking myself how much time Preem put in this, another reason to be a fan of Premo! Enjoy the excellent quality of paid satellite radio:

R.I.P. Mr. Magic Tribute Mix

DJ Premier had to do it again, it’s terrible! Your favorite rapper got to be a fan of Mr. Magic, making the hip hop radio scene since 1984! Mentioned in well known songs by 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas and in Preems produced song “Bang This” by Blaq Poet. For me he is well known by hosting the radio show “Wildstyle Pirate Radio” in the computer game GTA: Vice City. Big respect to Rockstar. The mix includes the beef between Mr. Magic and Public Enemy, excludes the beef with KRS-One with the song “Outta Here (Mr. Magic Diss Version)“, enjoy:

Btw, very nice intro tribute from DJ Premier with a unique Preem beat!

R.I.P. Mr. Magic

Message from DJ Premier:

I want to send out the utmost respect and condolences to the memory of John Rivas — aka Mr. Magic.

He passed away this morning of a heart attack.

True hip hop heads know that his history is so long due to him being the first rap mixshow to ever be on commercial radio on New York’s WBLS (107.5) with Marley Marl and Fly Ty in 1982-1984. Then went on to to WHBI in October 1984 and then back to WBLS in 1985 and WDAS in Philly. Simultaneously he paved the way for all radio stations that ever did mixshows and also sparked the career of Boogie Down Productions due to the ids he showed when they came to shop their demo to him and was turned away which then sparked “South Bronx” and “The Bridge Is Over”. He was known for his direct and sarcastic attitude on the air and every artist wanted his approval when it came to breaking new records. He even had songs dedicated to him by the legendary Whodini (”Mr. Magic’s Wand”) which was surprisingly produced by one of my favorite artists, Thomas Dolby.

Shouts out to Marley Marl & Fly Ty for the correct information on this. Rest in Peace Mr. Magic. -DJ Premier

Every Saturday, Rap Attack, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl. –The Notorious B.I.G.
