DJ Premier Homage

This is a special one, a track that pays homage to DJ Premier. I can’t say he doesn’t deserve this, because he is one true legend. I’m wondering if he would play it on LiveFromHQ, props to Phonte for the hook up who is actually also on the track together with Royce da 5’9″ and Stat Quo. DJ Premier didn’t produce this track, but Focus did! He did some nice productions is the past, but this one is real dope too. It’s for his new serie where he is going to make more homages. Haha, a very nice effort of these guys! Now I want to see Phonte on a Premo production!! Enjoy the homage to DJ Premier, who is know for 20 years(!) in the game, started with Gang Starr in 1989, congrats:

LiveFromHQ 24/01/2009

No new track, no guests but it was a tight show. A lot of bullshit was talking haha, Tha Blaqprint is coming in a few months DJ Premier said. Also Big Shug is already started working on his next album, did two new joints (not with Premo yet). Next week it will be DJ Eclipse because Preem will be to the superbowl. Big shout to the internet:

I Think “American Black Man” is Coming

Loool, I’m almost ashamed to post this, but I think “American Black Man” is finally getting released this season. Bumpy released some days ago a new song called “Yes You Can” with the tags “American Black Man coming soon…”. I really hope so! The album of the Gang Starr Foundation member will contain productions by Alchemist, Pete Rock, DJ Premier and himself. The album was first announced to be released the first quarter of 2005. Also he got an album made in three days with KRS-One that also should be released anytime, the productions are from Freddie Foxxx himself. Besides that he is also doing an album fully produced by DJ Premier with old and new joints. And he even said he was going to do a full album with Pete Rock if he could.

(This was the front of the album in 2005…)

Track with Premo that should be on it:

  • The Life
  • Mic & Gun
  • Freddie Blassey
  • My Thoughts

Some smaller news: you can pre-order House of Repz vls at ughh.com, they are also going to release an album this year called “The 5ive Facez of Death“. Surprise surprise, also Natural Elements is getting ready to release an album haha (this got nothing to do with DJ Premier). For those who know them will be glad to hear this! And Royce da 5’9″Street Hop” is coming 21/04 on M.I.C/One Records, new video “Part of Me” will drop in a couple of days.

MoSS Signed to Works of Mart

Got something fresh for y’all, a 40mins interview with DJ Premier about a lot of items. Big shout to the people of Thermal Soundwaves for this one. It’s recorded in January so this headline is fresh. Works of Mart, if you read the credits, DJ Premier always produced for Works of Mart. It’s a small label project of DJ Premier where he signes producers (since recently), first name is MoSS. Producer from Canada.

Other then that DJ Premier talks about Year Round Records, Mass Appeal, DWYCK, Buckshot Lefonque, Biggie, Blaq Poet and how to get in touch with his management. They also talks about Superproducer Solar because he was getting aggressive some months ago when they did an interview with Guru because there was too much talk about Gang Starr, and when I heard that interview, oeeeew, this producer threats Guru as a child (he actually interrupt Guru several times with a mad voice how the deal is) haha. I think I finally understand why Guru and Premier are not together anymore… But at least he is a superproducer (now you know my opion).

Here you have the interview with DJ Premier:

PREEMISH: Brooke Russell – No More

Long time I posted a beat with a close DJ Premier sound, this one is a rnb track by Brooke Rusell. She is a singster from USA, but used to live in Germany (or still lives there). She only made one album in 1999. With help from various german artists, like DJ Desue. If you don’t know him, he used to be one of the best German hip hop producer. But this one is a more unkown production of him, but you will hear how hot it is:

Got this joint from my man wiktor!

Notorious Brunch with DJ Premier today

That’s right we are offically open for business tomorrow but this Saturday we’re having a “Nortorious Brunch” with free cocktails from Sprite Green and DJ Premier spinning from 1pm to 4pm. 672 N. Wells is our new address. If you live in Chicago, hey, it’s free, why not…

Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed VLS

Blaq Poet dropped the first 12″ on DJ Premier‘s Year Round Records, and here he drops his long-overdue second 12-inch for the label. “Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed” is the first single from “Tha Blaqprint“, which is Premier’s first front-to-back album of production since the last Gang Starr album. The album is due Spring 2009, with this slab giving you two joints from the album plus a bonus cut…

A1 Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed (Dirty)
A2 Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed (Clean)
A3 Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed (Instrumental)
B1 Don’t Give a F*cc (Clean)
B2 Don’t Give a F*cc (Dirty)
B3 Too Strong (Dirty)
B4 Too Strong (Instrumental)

Source: Fatbeats

Yeah baby, finally! We can cop this goodie, note that in the info of fatbeats are a couple mistakes like not all tracks will be produced by Premo. But this whole VLS is!! As you know “Too Strong” won’t be on the album, it’s a bonus for the vinyl freaks under us. I will always making adds to DJ Premier work, this is how I show my respect, I want to help them sell, every producer wants support, only the best will get it.. And finally, this is also the time the clip will drop for “Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed” so wait with us.. Peace from the east.

50 Cent Beat Update

No new stuff at LiveFromHQ 17/01/2009 today, but the show wasn’t bad. We were all waiting on a reaction of DJ Premier considering that 50 Cent track and the first joint he played was that track. What I noticed is that the track had tags of “thisis50.com” a several times, so he didn’t got the version from 50 Cent himself but from “thisis50.com” where it’s also leaked. So if you are Preem, here you have the full no dj version of 50 Cent rhyming and shouting on your beat like this blog is used to, finding it first! And after the track was played he explained how the situation is, follow this:

Just what we thought…

DJ Premier on Afu-Ra’s next Album

DJ Premier will be producing for Afu-Ra‘s upcoming album called “Voice of A Legend“. The album is sheduled for 2009. Also watch it if you want a good laugh, believe me.
