The list of tracks for the vote contains eight tracks (!!) and there won’t be any rnb track in it, I’m sorry. Just to focus on tha real… hip hop. I’m actual curious to know the results so I thank you for wasting your time on this! May God bless you, peace to earth!!

And please don’t cry if your favourite track isn’t nominated (you can always skip simple things in life).

Another small thing, the Vivid track is NOT produced by DJ Premier! The scratches are done by DJ Cazz and seriously, ever saw a Preem track where he didn’t do the cuts?! Plus, you can hear in a sec that isn’t the man. And the RA The MC track “Anything You Liked” is a recycled beat, she jacked it from the “Beats That Collected Dust” LP… Sorry!

House of Repz have shot a video clip for their track “You Gotta Love This”, but where is the video for Royce‘s new single that is recorded months ago…

DJ Premier: “He Didn’t Just Sit There and Sulk”

“I used to see Arty perform — he reminded me of Method Man because he would just yank his hat off and be all over the place and his hair would be some crazy hair do,” Premo told SOHH. “He would act like he was having a tantrum on stage and he was just so animated, it went with his rhyme style. So I was always a fan of his.”

After allowing Arty’s rap associate Showbiz to rent out a room at his studio, the producer developed a close relationship with the crew and noticed Arty’s health conditions gradually worsen.

“I saw him when he was sick, and you know, we didn’t really get too deep into discussion, but I knew he wasn’t doing well” Premo explained.

Premo recalls the last meeting with Arty, just before going to Europe for the “Rock The Bells” tour last October. “I knew he was doing worse, I saw him right before I left, gave him a hug and, you know, told him I loved him and just kept it moving,” he added. “But I didn’t know it was so severe that he was pretty much brain dead for the last four days before he passed on December 4.”

Admitting the family felt the best decision was to pull the life support system, Premo revealed Arty’s desire to continue his legacy via hip-hop.

“One thing I like about what Arty and what J Dilla did was they put themselves to work,” he revealed. “They didn’t just sit there and sulk and cry, they went in there and worked in the studio.”

Helping carry on Arty’s memory, Premier expects to release some of the late rapper’s music in the future.

Not much to say when I was listening this night… Nothing new he said or played. 88-Keys was in the house, he has a new album so that was promoted. He played MVP and Too Strong, he also played the instrumental of MVP. But I have noticed something: while they were talking he played the instrumental of “It’s Been A Long Time Coming” by Flipsyde, now that is still an unreleased track of 2005. So he carries it with him, WHY NOT RELEASING IT?!

R.I.P. Party Arty of D.I.T.C.

DJ Premier email:

I want to send out my condolences to the family of Party Arty of the world famous D.I.T.C. (Diggin’ In The Crates Crew and of GG (aka Get Dirty)

He passed away this afternoon (Dec. 4) around 1:30pm due to healt complications…

His hardcore lyrics have been ringing out in the streets from Showbiz & AG, Lord Finesse, OC, and their own group GD which consists of rhyme partner D-Flow…

He also appeared on the joint I produced called “Weed Scented” which featured Guru of Gang Starr and OC on AG’s first solo LP…He appears on the new D.I.T.C. Records compilation which is in stores now called “The Movement”

…He caught the attention of 50 Cent altough the deal never went thru but his talent was recognized by true heads of the rap shit for his hyped up insane style on records and on stage preformance…

This also marks the 1 year anniversary of UGH member Pimp C who passed away this same day last year…We love you and will miss you both… R.I.P. Arty… DJ Premier

Video for Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed recorded

I wanted to let you know their will be a video of Blaq Poet‘s first single “Ain’t Nuttin’ Changed” for his next project. The video is recorded two weeks ago in Queensbridge and will hit this month the net!

Hoooo Haaaan!!

DJ Premier on Channel 10

DJ Premier recorded with Capone-N-Noreaga in october a new song called “Grand Loyal“. It’s for their next LP “Channel 10” that will be released in early 2009. The song became after Blaq Poet wanted Noreaga on his “Tha Blaqprint” album (on the song “Hey“). In exchange DJ Premier recorded with Capone-N-Noreaga. Maybe a new classic like we all remember “Invincible“!

Oh, and the beat that was used for that track is a rejected beat by Rakim.

Les Négresses Vertes – Voilà l’ Été (Gang Starr Remix)

Update Update Update! To keep it simple on this boring track: It is not produced by DJ Premier! Now to keep it funny: It is produced by Guru! Found this in my libary and this is what it says on the small notes: “Remixe Par Le Guru Pour Guru Productions Inc”.

Lord Finesse – Keep The Crowd Listening (DJ Premier Remix) VLS

Finally, we got a vinyl single for the remix that was leaked since 2006! The remix was originally made for a remix project, Lord Finesse and others where going to remix the legendary “The Funky Technician” LP. Don’t get me wrong, the remix project still excists, but is only delayed for 4 years. It’s sheduled for 2010 when they can celebrate the 20 year anniversary!

The other problem is, the single isn’t really a commercial release. It will only be pressed 200 times and you can only buy it when you buy two copies of Lord Finesse – Rare Selections EP Vol. 3 (that is pressed 300 times). Another problem is one copy cost about $80… They say it’s for the real diggers, I say it’s for the rich bastards…

Well, the single will be in my hands some day 🙂 You can count on that! It also contains a Large Pro remix!
