It’s been a busy 24-hours for Papoose, but he’s used to hustler’s hours. Last night, Pap and Remy Ma became trending topics on Twitter after it was announced that the pair are starring in the upcoming season of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop.
Similarly, over a signature DJ Premier track and scratch chorus, Pap continues to supply whatever you need with “The Plug,” which was premiered today by XXL.
“The Plug” can be found on Papoose’s upcoming sophomore album, You Can’t Stop Destiny, which finds Pap re-connecting with familiar faces, as he rekindles his undeniable chemistry with DJ Premier, Havoc, Ron Browz, Amadeus and his better half Remy Ma, while also ushering in an updated aesthetic, including the Troy Ave assisted and Havoc produced lead-single “Mobbing” and Ty Dolla $ign on the radio-ready future single “Michael Jackson” which also includes Remy Ma.

BMB Spacekid – Til It’s Done (Feat. Anderson Paak) (Scratches by DJ Premier) CDQ
So the story goes that DJ Premier spent a few days in the studio alongside St. Petersburg’s BMB Spacekid and one half of LA-based funksters NxWorries, Anderson Paak. The result of their combined wizardry is “Til It’s Done” – a headnodding joyride through electro-funk characterised by a hip-hop drum kit underbelly and topped by Anderson’s ever-capable vocal acrobatics. I think Premo only did the scratches though, listen:

Boho-soul duo Lion Babe Pharrell Williams-produced “Wonder Woman” has been given the revered DJ Premier remix treatment. Premo takes a light-touch approach, cooling tones and sharping edges, but leaving frontwoman Jillian Hervey’s powerful vocals intact. Of teaming up with DJ Premier for this remix, the group says: “We love Gangstarr and so many other great records DJ Premier has produced. ‘Rite Where U Stand’ and ‘Return of Crooklyn Dodgers’ are two of our favorites. Such an honor to be remixed by a legend.” An honor indeed.
