Every hip hop artist owes this person. Without him you would not exist in hip hop
Now there are artists making millions. Put your hand in your pocket. Dig deep and show support.

    The godfather needs your help.

Word…!!!! Let’s show the world that we are a Hip Hop family!!!! Every dollar counts!!!!!
Please keep him also in your prayers!!! He needs us!!

  • We owe a debt to the man who contribute so much to the hip-hop culture. Many of us, including myself made a living and raise our families off the culture of hip-hop. Let’s show some gratitude.

No doubt, I’m gonna give what I can. Shit, we don’t pay for music anyway – this is a much better cause than supporting some cornball’s gold chain fund

This man is the foundation of an entire culture. It sickens me beyond belief that he can’t afford his health insurance while other so called *ahem* rappers get paid so much money, that they don’t know what to do with it..

Therefore, I am issuing a challenge to ANY rapper, MC, DJ, or anyone else who benefits financially from this art:

If you make money from hip hop culture, help this man by donating some money.

I have his name forever inked on my arm. I don’t make a lot of money and I am giving WHATEVER can to help..

What will YOU do to help?
You say you love hip-hop culture?? PROVE IT!!

Every rich entrepreneur in hip hop out there including 50 and Jay z, Puff,Russell Simmons , should pay his bills with out blinking. He is part of the foundation of hip hop and culture. Shit if i was a fucking Millionaire I would pay that bill off for him and pay for his surgery.

  • we all know the illuminatis wount pay a cent.. Kool Herc great muso that he is, joins the millions of starving black african peoples in Africa and elsewhere whom the rich have turned their fur coated backs on. Where are the colleges, universities, hospitals, art centers, investment in health cure studies built by ‘our’ black stars? Huh, r kelly, jay-z, 50, diddy, simmons, interscope, aftamath, young money??? Booty worshippers.. Your lickle sodom and gomorah which you promote, on behalf of your masters voice wount save you when your day comes forgetting you’re REALLY africans in amourica.. The youths of Africa speak..

Greetings. We all owe Kool Herc and while every rapper needs to pony up, we need to stop thinking we can’t make a BIG difference with cooperative economics and small contributions on our part. Think of the followers you have on Twitter, Facebook, etc.. We can send Herc hundreds of thousands of dollars just by contributing anywhere from $1 – $20 each. I’m sending mine. I’m not waiting on a rich rapper, we all have $10 to spare, at least!

    From Twitter:

@DJWARRIOR: For Kool Herc donations you can now Paypal through Kool Herc’s Sister. Send to cindycampbell1@aol.com

  • Comment from Liran

I have had the pleasure of meeting DJ Kool Herc several months back and having a few words with him. He is an amazing inspiration to all of Hip-Hop and today’s music in general. I really do wish him all the best and pray that he recovers in good health. All you big-time rappers, DJs, and producers should start a fund to help this legend out of a tough time.

  • Comment from The Banks

Please provide a link so we can get this brother some HELP. Maybe paypal account link or something. I’m not a rich rapper but I got a $10.00 to pitch in. That’s the least any rapper can do.

  • Comment from SeXXXyRicanLady Luvs Real HIP HOP

It’s a shame that Diddy, Pharrell & Rick Ross can spend a million dollars at a strip club and not take recognition of the man who made it possible. You would think that EVERYONE in the real HIP HOP NATION have not gotten together and help THE FATHER OF HIP HOP

  • Comment from Case In Point

I’m willing to bet more white people respond to this than black people.

ITS YOUR BROTHER COPE2 IT WAS GOOD SEEING YOU IN MIAMI LETS HELP YOU OUT!!

  • Comment from D-Rock

IMO, Herc and Bambaataa should be receiving royalties from generations of successful hip-hop entities! Unfortunately, the World doesn’t work like that.

I’d hope some of the Artists and Labels would step up and help contribute to Herc’s medical bills. Actually, ‘step up’ may be too strong. After all, we’re really only taking about a measly $10K considering how much all the Artists and Labels make combined…each year…for the last 20+ years.

Anyway, I`m going to help out however much I can.

If anyone else wants to, donate to cindycampbell1@aol.com at http://www.paypal.com.

  • Comment from Jasmine

This is a great example why America needs single-payer health care. I’m in foreclosure due to medical costs – and I have health insurance!

As a former Bronx-girl I take pride in where I was born and raised. I wish Herc all the best, and I thank those of you who are spreading the word and offering donations.

  • Comment from Tessor

That’s horrible. I’m not greatly familiar with Kool Herc, but no artist deserves to suffer, let alone financially when they get ill.

  • Comment from Ty Green

Thats terrible I cant believe it, I hope everything turns out ok!
