Thorotracks – Gangstas In NY (Feat. NYGz) (Prod. by Thorotracks)

I totally overlooked this one. In july I had a rip of a NYGz track that wasn’t produced by DJ Premier. I didn’t had any info about the track, where it should be released on. But the producers name was Thorotracks and they were making their own solo album “The Saga Continues” where this NYGz track is from. That album got released in august so it’s a bit old. If you like his beats you should cop the album, also Year Round Record artist Blaq Poet and Gang Starr Foundation member Krumb Snatcha are featuring. Cop it here for only $9. Enjoy:

Statik Selektah – Other Than That (Feat. NYGz) (Prod. by Statik Selektah) (Radio Rip)

I’m happy to present to you a brand new track with Year Round Records members Shabeeno and Panchi. Produced the one and only Statik Selektah for his upcoming EP “Pre Game” coming soon. This is already the 2nd time Statik Selektah works with a YRR member, first we had Nick Javas with his track “Beginning to End” here. Another proof of the good relations between Showoff and YRR. Oh yes, and in about one month my blog exists one year, maybe I’m thinking of changing some things; AYE!! Enjoy:

PREEMISH: El Da Sensei & The Returners – Ain’t Trippin’ (Feat. Ghettosocks & Timbuktu)

!!EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE!! Just got this in my mailbox from Michal Chwialkowski (The Returners), and shit is too hard, so why not posting it!! This is in my top 10 tracks of 2009! El Da Sensei from The Artifacts teamed up one year ago with Polish production team The Returners for making an album called “Global Takeover“. No misstep, it was surprisingly an underground hit. Now one year later we can tell that El Da Sensei still loves the European flavor by releasing a new EP with The Returners. Check out promo vid:

The track features underground artists Ghettosocks (from whom we already made a preemish post) and Timbuktu. It is the clean version, but even the clean version has preemish sounds haha. Bang this shit:

Clean: El Da Sensei & The Returners – Ain’t Trippin’ (Feat. Ghettosocks & Timbuktu) (Clean) (Prod. by The Returners)

Dirty: El Da Sensei & The Returners – Ain’t Trippin’ (Feat. Ghettosocks & Timbuktu) (Dirty) (Prod. by The Returners)

DJ Premier worked with Slovakian MC “Rytmus” for his upcoming album!

A new European x DJ Premier collabo seems to see the light still this year. The Slovakian “Rick Ross” aka Rytmus (Slovakian for “Rhythm”) worked with DJ Premier for his upcoming album “Kral” (“King”). It’s general assumed they got in touch with each other when Premo did his last European Tour. The Slovakian MC isn’t a unknown person in own country, started his career in 1992, and started 9 years later with his successful group Kontrafakt. But I guess Slovakia was too small for him, because in 2003 he got a hit with the song “Dáva mi” (“It Gives Me”) that reached out to Poland and Germany followed by his second place in the Austrian beatbox championship battle where he won over young American talent Lee-Jay. Not afraid of international collaborations he already worked with Kool Savas and Nate Dogg. Rytmus official site says the album is coming next month!

Too bad we won’t understand a fuck about the lyrics, but still curious as fuck. Props to DJ Spank for the heads up!

DJ Premier Gave Jay-Z “Some Heat” for Blueprint 3

Much has been talked about which producers should’ve produced on Jay-Z‘s latest album, The Blueprint 3 sequel. Although DJ Premier is absent in the liner notes, he did submit three beats that were left on the cutting room floor.

In the process of recording the album, according to Premier, Hov asked the legendary hip-hop producer to send a few tracks.

“I ran into him at [DJ] Cassidy’s birthday party,” Premier tells VIBE. “I hadn’t seen him in a while and he told me to send him three tracks. But I have a habit of not getting my tracks to [artists] at the time that they need them, so by the time I got them to Jay he was really in a rush to wrap up his album.”

With deadline approaching, the songs submitted simply didn’t fit Jay’s vision.

“It was all cool. There will be other days, and on top of that our history is made from other things we did,” Premier says, referencing others cuts he produced earlier in Jay’s career, including “D’Evils” and “Friend or Foe.”

“I gave him some heat,” he adds of the Blueprint 3 submissions. “But again it just didn’t fit the mold of what he was trying to bring out with this particular project. Maybe we’ll get gutter on the next one.”

Preemo is also looking to squeeze in work for Eminem‘s upcoming Relapse 2, for which Just Blaze is already a confirmed collaborator. Since he’s kicking off a DJ tour in Europe this week, however, time is once again working against him.

“[Eminem and I] spoke about doing some beats. My schedule is just dumb crazy but there’s no way I want to miss an Eminem album,” Premier says. “But still the first thing is to handle what’s the most necessary, which is to get my artists up and running [NYGz, Blaq Poet] and close to releasing their music and then if there’s a window to work with him I’ll definitely do it.”

The producer explains that it’s just about getting face time with Marshall. “I literally cook it up right there on the spot and then that way it really sounds like we match,” he says. “I tailor the track to the artist and I love Eminem as an MC so I already pretty much know what to make.” –Clover Hope

Cormega’s “Born And Raised”

I rarely buy things that are in the shop, because -for those who don’t know- I’m a collector of things that aren’t in the common shop. But this one is different, got the album today in my mailbox and didn’t regret one bit of it. How could I? It’s Cormega with his own indie label and father of a young daughter. How can you not support that shit? He deserve every cent of it, in my opinion is this one and Skyzoo‘s “Salvation” top of year 2009. When I read the inlay of the album I saw this interesting picture with the note of Cormega: “Premier, it was a dream come true to work with you. Thanks for the moment and the music”. Hopefully we hear a dozen more Cormega DJ Premier joints hehe, and Cormega told us that the “Dirty Game (Remix)” is coming! Looking forward! Go cop that shit!! Peace.

Btw, wonderful answer on the Drake question by Cormega made me love this album even more!

Khaleel – Rappin’ Exercise (Feat. Panchi) (Prod. by Showbiz) (Radio Rip)

Mister Khaleel aka Texan Future was for more then one week in New York to record tracks. While making the album complete he recorded most with DJ Premier, but also Showbiz did his thing. Now DJ Premier Blog brings you the radio rip of that track (cuts by DJ Premier(!)) that features Panchi! Year Round Records is getting down, only they need to release every six months in everyones opinion. And believe me, you can’t get more under the ground then this underground track. Spread it on a silent way! Enjoy:

And because I laughed my ass of with Panchi (like every week) I ripped this conversation between DJ Eclipse, Panchi, DJ Premier and Cormega (who was this week guest), listen here! The “Dirty Game (Remix)” is going to be released later..
