Canibus Going After DJ Premier; “Tell The Truth/Monsters (DJ Premier Diss)”

Owwww shiiiiiiiit, I can’t remember someone dissing DJ Premier in a very very long time. Obviously Canibus took this as a serious attack towards him. He sounds really pissed. I remember DJ Premier saying beef can be interesting as long as it isn’t violent. OK. I’m going to stay objective, but this is a DJ Premier Blog haha. Any thoughts:

Allow me to say 1 thing:

Lets make a summary of the Premo clip on VladTV and this diss;

– Premo tells on VladTV that he didn’t understand why Canibus rejected the Devil’s Pie beat.
– Canibus makes a track about Premier getting late and that he should tell the truth bla bla.

Seriously, what has those two things to do with each other? Or is it because DJ Premier was late you rejected Devil’s Pie? lmao. Or is it because you’re the only one who things Premo dissed you? Now Preem should hook up with Eminem lol. Suicide mission?

DJ Premier Remix On The B-Side Of French Electro Artist SebastiAn Upcoming Single “Embody”

Well respected electro label Ed Banger Records and French/Serbian electro producer SebastiAn is preparing his debut album. In Europe electro is a big thing, and those who aren’t following that scene must know Ed Banger Records is the most talented label in that genre and non stop growing since 2002 over here. For me it’s funny because I also loved electro (I love so many music, damn)… I even used to have a couple of Uffie 12inches. Electro from Europe is taking his place in America like David Guetta or The Crookers, but they had to change their sound to sell for a larger (commercial) public. Ed Banger still keeps it to the real electro, just like DJ Premier does for hip hop.

But this sounds like an interesting collabo to me. DJ Premier remixed the upcoming single for SebastiAn debut album “Total”. The remix is called “Embody (DJ Premier ’95 Break Remix)” and coming out on March 28th together with the original song by SebastiAn. His album is scheduled for May 2011. Electro and hip hop always had mutual respect for each other, recognize. Lets see what it brings…

If this continues Preem will produce more for Europe than America :D.

DJ Premier Doing Soundtrack For ESPN Films documentary “The Fab 5″ Airing Tomorrow

How five college freshmen ignited a basketball revolution.

The two-hour film airs March 13 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN and depicts the story of Jalen Rose and his other Fab Five teammates, Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson. Called by some “the greatest class ever recruited,” the five freshmen not only electrified the game, but also brought new style with their baggy shorts, black socks and brash talk.

“The Fab Five” relives the recruitment process that got all five of them to Ann Arbor, the cultural impact they made, the two runs to NCAA title game, the Webber “timeout” in the 1993 championship and the scandal that eventually tarnished their accomplishments.

Jeru the Damaja Upcoming Album Featuring DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor, The Beatnuts & More

Jeru the Damaja is ready to release a new album in 2011 and he’s not going to take it easy. It’s been 4 years since his latest album “Still Raising” was released on Ashenafi Records. It looks like he’s now getting ready for some new material, and like I’m hearing it’s going to be a no brainer for real hip hop heads. He already teamed up with Large Professor (last collaboration was 3 years ago on “Main Source”), Pete Rock (only did a remix for Jeru in ’94) and JuJu from the Beatnuts. And if everything goes right we can expect a new DJ Premier collabo on the album.

Could it be?? After 15 years?? Time will tell… Album is scheduled for 2011.
