Big Shug – Spit Six (Radio Rip)

Ow yep, the first track of Big Shug‘s upcoming album ‘I Am Forever’ was aired last night on LiveFromHQ by the one and only DJ Premier. Gang Starr Foundation coming hard as always. Damn, I don’t remember shit now. Was the album now called ‘I Am Forever’ or ‘Blue Collar’? And I forgot how many Preem bangers were on it, I know there’s another track with Fat Joe that stays in my mind. Pfff, Fat Joe and Big Shug? That’s unheard! Damn. Now bang it like you used to do, Asian style:

Big Shug – Spit Six (Radio Rip)

I’m feeling this! I love how it has this little bop-ya-head vibe to it. Would be perfect for a kid’s fantasy cartoon or something as the kid runs up a greeny mountain on some Zelda shit.

Ahh…Pure cool, Shug’s delivery is nice. Any news about when this album would drop?

… The big word on the street. Dope, like you was expecting anything else from Shug & Preem??

Da’ G-A-N-G til’ da’ sun burn out!

I’m surprised there aren’t more comments about this track. It’s INSANE. I can’t stop listening to the shit!

Straight up, this has to be Preem’s best record in at least a year. “Project Boy” was crazy too but Ortiz isn’t the best on the mic. So that’s a classic case of beat > emcee.

and Blaq Poet’s album (aside from “Voices”, which is insanely ill) didn’t really do it for me.

But this record, the beat and the emcee are pretty much equal. And they’re both DOPE. The beat is simple but so melodic you can’t help but headnod. And Big Shug rhymed nice on this! He claimed it as his own. Simple, but gutter and laidback delivery with a nice overall concept. and also very important, Shug has a nice rap voice. People underestimate the power of a good rap voice.

Anyway, I fuck with this track for real. Made my day, real talk

*I-Gettin and Rap Addiction (from Poet’s album) were dope too, but not quite amazing. See my description for “Project Boy”

Poet’s nice. I’m not knocking dude. Tracks like “Watch Your Back” and “Voices” are some of the illest of the last decade.

Been banging this nonstop…..”sirBiatch” made a reference to Ortiz “project boy” and said he isn’t the best on the mic…refering to him not being nice….classic case of someone having no-idea what being “nice” on the mic means..but thats just my opinion.

I need this and and project boy on wax.

lol @ the king. Yeah, I have no idea what being nice on the mic is. Because Joell Ortiz is SO ILL, right? He has to be! After all, he’s underground! by definition, that means ILL, right?

    Fuck outta here.

I’m not going to knock a man for listening to Joell Ortiz. Everyone has their own taste. But to act like Joell Ortiz is ill across the board and everyone should love him is delusional. Nevermind that he doesn’t have a good rap voice and his lyrics aren’t all that memorable for the most part.
