The Game’s Upset Not Working With DJ Premier

“The only person I’m upset I didn’t work with on this album is DJ Premier. I feel his shit would have been perfect for this all-star producer cast that I have. One Premier track would have did me just fine. I would have murdered that shit. But we ain’t get it in, ’cause he was doing a whole bunch of shit for Christina Aguilera. I’m just Game. So I gotta just wait for the next album.” -The Game

That Christina Aguilera shit didn’t made the final album anyway.

THIS BLOG IS ABOUT TO CHANGE WITH YOUR HELP

Yes, I’m actually thinking of changing the blog into something bigger. I want it to become a website that integrates the forum, trackology and blog at once (with subdomains I guess, don’t know much of sites). The blog will still be the index page of course. Now that I saved a bit for this fanblog about DJ Premier. I’m about to try to host this site on my own because I think it’s more than worth it if you look at the popularity of this site. And I have a lot more of rare Premo stuff to post.

I’m actually very proud on this blog I’ve created with DJ Premier related material but it was never my intention to be so big lol. I mean, I just started this blog for the people on the forum but next thing you know NahRight picked it up and then the hip hop magazines and at one point even TMZ.com LOL. I guess you can say I’m a journalist which I also didn’t want to become, but I had to… With so many visitors I can’t just type what I feel like I did in the beginning, I had to be objective. I miss that, but I took my responsibility towards DJ Premier lol. But on the other hand, I had great mails from great artists and fans that gave me motivation when I needed it. Because to be honest, I’ve been thinking of quitting a couple of times now to be honest. So shout out to everybody that kept me motivated! Enough about me.

I’m going to change this blog to a WordPress theme and to keep this message short and simple: what WordPress theme you want to see in the future for this blog? Give me your advise of what is perfect for a DJ Premier page. Because I don’t give a fuck how this blog looks but if you do I would like you to recommend me one so I can make my visitors happy.

And second, you got a good domain name for this blog? Tell me!! I was thinking of djpremierplanet.com (to honor Don-RIF from Morocco) but if you got a better name, shoot!!

Thanks in advance!!

“Guru’s Health Status Is Stable, Not In Coma”

Guru is diagnosed by his doctors as ailing from Anoxia due to his history of lung problems and asthma. Guru is NOT in coma and he continues too recover. The doctors are hopeful for a full recovery. Thoughts and prayers have been with legendary Hip-Hop emcee Guru since his hospitalization earlier this month due to a heart attack. Solar, the rapper’s longtime partner and best friend, said Guru has a history of lung problems and asthma and is slowly recovering. Guru, born Keith Elam, recently disclosed his first statement, assuring the public that he is recuperating, and that his producer Solar will stand as his representative during his recovery. “I am doing fine and I am recovering! I’m weak though,” Guru said. “Solar is the only person who has the accurate info on my situation. Any info from anybody else is false. I appreciate your well wishes and all the love! “The producer expressed similar sentiments about the rapper’s health status, saying: “Guru is resting and doing well. The doctors say that he will fully recover from his illness. We thank everyone who send prayers our way and we appreciate the outpouring of love from fans around the world!” There are a lot of rumors and false allegations circulating around, but Guru explicitly named Solar his official spokesperson and the hit producer is taking this position very seriously. “Guru has entrusted me to be accurate and truthful in relaying information to the media,” Solar said. The producer is in constant contact with Guru’s relatives like the MC’s father, and brother who have visited the legendary rapper numerous times. “When a patient is in such critical conditions it is very common that not everyone is allowed to enter the room, especially when Mr. Keith Elam doesn’t want to see certain people,” one of Guru’s doctors said. Many Hip-Hop artists from around the world sent well wishes to Guru but some people from his past are trying to shed bad light on his partner Solar for his position in this situation. In a previous interview with AllHipHop.com, Guru made it clear that he and his former deejay and some people he used to work with were never that close. “People ask me about […] all that. We were never all that close. We hooked up in the studio and did great music, but we were never hanging and all that cool. Solar and I, we got tight before we even started doing music.” Guru, the sole founder of the world-famous Hip-Hop duo GangStarr, is reluctant to talk about his GangStarr past, especially his ex-DJ who he hasn’t spoken to in over 7 years. “That’s something I don’t want to talk about. I don’t want to talk about the past. The past is the past. It is what it is. It was great, but that was then and this is now.” said Guru. Doctors have not given any indication as to when Guru might be released, but the rapper is touched by the fan support. “The outpouring of love from around the world has been tremendous,” Solar said. “I’m reading some of the best e-mails, texts and Twitters that come in and Guru enjoys them. I think that’s what has been helping his recovery and what’s got him in there fighting.” During what must be an incredibly hard and stressful period in life, keep sending your prayers, thoughts, and wishes to Guru, Solar and his loved ones.

I post this for those who wanna hear, I certainly don’t. Lol at Superproducer Solar thinking DJ Premier is the reason why people hate him, no Superproducer Solar, something like that is called karma. -gimantalon

R.I.P. Jun “Nujabes” Seba

Nujabes (born Jun Seba), a Japanese hip-hop producer, was killed in a car accident in Tokyo. Nujabes crashed when leaving the Metropolitan Expressway in Tokyo’s Minato Ward. Nujabes was 36 years old when he died. The car crash that killed Nujabes took place on February 26, 2010, the same day a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck off the coast of Japan. Nujabes’ death was only publicly confirmed by Hydeout Productions and by his friend and collaborator, Shing02, today; he was buried by his family in a private ceremony. Nujabes was the founder of Hydeout Productions, as well as the owner of two Tokyo record stores, Guinness Records and T Records. Nujabes (who came by his artistic name by spelling his real name backwards) also contributed music to the anime “Samurai Champloo”, an anachronistic tale mixing samurai lore and modern hip-hop culture. Nujabes was a private person, and so many, even those who worked closely with him, did not know he had died. The common Internet death rumors did not make it to the English-speaking web, and this is a rare case in which an artist’s actual death notice preceded the rumors.

Damn, I was such a big fan of the man. Not only his music, but his character too. I remember when a hip hop fan got back from Japan they always asked him if he went to his record shop and took pictures of it and if they met Nujabes himself. Because it was so rarely to see him on image, he communicates with music like no one else did. His vinyl were always hard to get for non Japan heads, it was crazy how they were sold. The underground world really recognized him and always will, no doubt about it. He was one of the best hip hop producer of Japan and that is what he will always be remembered for, R.I.P. my friend, we’ll miss you. 2010, damn…

Big up to Shing02 and his letter here, you can also leave a message for Nujabes over there. Stay strong my brother!

Kool Sphere (of Verbal Threat) – Supply & Demand (Feat. Smiley the Ghetto Child & Lil Dap) (Prod. by Weirdo)

Here we have a new exclusive track from Kool Sphere of Verbal Threat, and I really like it. It’s featuring Gang Starr Foundation members Smiley the Ghetto Child & Lil Dap (of Group Home). Kool Sphere just finished his first solo album “Integritty” that is coming out soon with features like Lil Dap, Smiley The Ghetto Child, Smoothe Da Hustler, Verbal Threat, Kool G Rap, Tame-One (from Artifacts) and Rhona Bennett (from En Vogue). That’s how you keep it real in this rap game!! I recently copped his pre-album (or whatever you wanna call it) with a lot of unreleased joints that are banging real good, you can check out the samples here. I can’t wait for this album to drop. This joint is produced by Weirdo from Italy, I know the dude from back in time when he was promoting his beats on forums. Respect for him! “Reality Check” still gives me a boner haha, Verbal Threat didn’t split btw, they actually working on a new album. Now enjoy Kool Sphere, be on the look out:
